The ability to work with clients to customise and cater to their exact and differing needs is what makes Billy V the right man for the job...Billy V was born in Penang,
Malaysia but grew up on the
sunny beaches of Sydney.
In the fashionably misdirected 80's and early neurotic 90's, Billy launched a
company that managed small underground parties, usually on boats or within
venues that showcased the city's beautiful harbor. Leaving Australia in 1991, to "travel and see the
world" Billy beached himself in Goa where
he swiftly embraced the hedonistic lifestyle and most importantly, a vibrant
music scene that would help give rise to today’s intrepid musical culture.
After
a few years on the "techno hippie circuit", he found himself in Bangkok, where over the years
he has established himself as a top-flight club DJ and promoter. Along with
Mikey Mike(US), Billy V helped to pioneer Bangkok's
underground party scene, organizing dance parties in top drawer venues
including the now legendary Narcissus.
During
the past twelve years Billy V has played in all of Bangkok's top venues
including Taurus, CM2, Zulu, Flix, Rome Club, Spasso, Sin, Riva’s and the Tunnel
to name but a few. He has manned the wheels of steel in clubs in Singapore,
Malaysia, China and Korea and played alongside DJ greats such as Ralphie Dee,
Jonathan Yeo, Marx O, DJ Norman Jay, Shawn Tulsi, Phil K, Bruno Le Petre (cafe
del mar) Derrick Carter, the legendary Bert Bevans, Kevin Yost, the Dum Dum
Project, James Lavelle, Ibiza’s Caf? Mambo, Johnny Fiasco, Jo Mills, Joe
Claussell, Danny Howells, Judge Jules Seb Fontaine, Lisa Loud, Gary Gecko &
Feral, Slipmatt & DJ Suv.
Long
established as a senior resident DJ at Bangkok's
trend setting nightspot, Q Bar. The eclectic music mix, beautiful people and
minimalist d?cor have made this stylish venue one of Asia’s
best. Billy is also spinning at Bangkok’s funkiest new venues: The Tunnel,
& at Twisted Republic (with longtime collaborator Darren Mac, as
dj/production duo VibeDaFunk).Late 2006
saw Billy play a major role in opening Koh Samui’s iconic nightlife landmark Q
Bar Samui with a BANG! The ability to
mix lounge, breaks, US garage, deep and funky house all the way thru to banging
floor fillers and anthemic classics has kept him busy and on the cutting edge.
Combined
with over 7 years as a DJ on Bangkok's Virgin Radio, teaming up with DJ Darren Mac as DJ/Production
duo (VibeDaFunk) and a
career as a television producer; filming programs in many locations including
the United Kingdom South Africa, Komodo Island, and the Great Wall of China
makes Billy one of the hardest working men in showbiz…
